I had a great time yesterday performing close up magic for Rob and Leanne at their wedding at Kelmarsh Hall.
It was a beautiful sunny day and I got to wear a gorgeous summery dress. One of the benefits of being a female magician and not having to wear a heavy suit, so I was in high spirits before I began.
I was booked as a wedding gift from the best man Andrew. It was great to walk up to Rob and Leanne and ask them how their day had been, you could see them both looking at me searching for some sort of recognition or clue to who I was. I then showed them a trick where I make money appear from nowhere, they both gasped in amazement and I then informed them I was in fact a professional female magician and I was there to entertain their guests. Im pleased to say they were both thrilled that I was there.
I got to walk around the lovely gardens and perform my close up magic during the photo period whilst people were drinking champagne in the sun. I then did table magic during the wedding breakfast. My highlight was the look on one of the husbands faces when I made his wife’s ring disappear, it was great to see how pleased they both looked when I made it re appear again.
I love the extra element of me being a female magician in the UK as it is still so rare. I got told by guests that they didn’t know we existed. I am hoping that will change we are much more than magicians assistants – I tried it once, being in a small box is not one of my favourite things to do. Making people smile with my close up magic is a much better fit for me :)
